Biography
When I was growing up, I felt so grateful that "all the knowledge in the world was written down".
Not too long later, I was shocked to learn that so much of the world's important knowledge is stored in the minds of great thinkers who often don't have the time, incentives, or sometimes energy to capture and distribute their knowledge to the world. I figured I needed to enter the arena; to build.
I was very fortunate to join On Deck and see it through from the 6th teammate to the >200th, and then to become Chief of Staff to Matt Mochary, where we worked with some of the world's greatest founders and investors.
Being around such inspiring folks shaped my realization even further.
Much of the world's important knowledge is tacit, and anyone would have a hard time expressing it regardless of the time, incentives, or energy they have to do so.
This led to an interest in expertise research and fields of study such as naturalistic decision making. Through this practice, I have learned how to grok what makes an expert great and turn their knowledge into something that can transform the lives of others.
