Biography

Fengyi is building BioMe to address a core problem in clinical trials: geographic bias and subjective measurement mean that results often do not reflect the people who need these treatments most.

BioMe uses computer vision to analyze motor function from at-home videos, improving the quality of clinical trial data and making trial participation independent of geography.

Previously, she conducted research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where her work on CRISPR technology was published in Cell Genomics and Nature Communications. She was also selected as a Broad Biomedical Post-Baccalaureate Scholar.

In Fengyi's words

“I'm grateful for the O'Shaughnessy Fellowship and excited to be joining this community. Underrepresented and biased data in healthcare shape which treatments get built and who they actually work for. I look forward to working on this alongside a community that is rigorous, diverse, and genuinely cares about the world.”
