Providing an alternative and inclusive learning space.
Biography
Being born to a poor family with 26 siblings and the separation of my parents led me to live on the streets at the age of ten. I stole, fought, and stabbed people to survive. With the help of a kind man, at 22 years of age, I left the streets unable to read or write. But I returned to school, I studied, worked, and started an organisation called AKHIN Africa. That provides an alternative learning space for homeless youngsters in Nigeria
In Israel's words
“Turning the story of millions of homeless children around in Nigeria began with one call — a call from an OSV Fellowship representative. That single moment marked the beginning of a new era for us and every child still waiting for a chance.”
