Human augmentation
Building Augmentation Lab: an R&D lab for philosopher-builders creating and exploring technologies that expand human capabilities.
Biography
Dünya Baradari is a scientist, engineer, and designer working on human augmentation and human–AI symbiosis.
She co-founded Augmentation Lab, a home for philosopher-builders exploring how technology can shape our minds, bodies, and relationships, and is developing its commercial arm, Augmentation Company, into an R&D lab and product studio.
Her work spans neuroscience, human–computer interaction, and art, including research at the MIT Media Lab. Through immersive residencies, public gatherings, and product development, she brings researchers, artists, and technologists together to build possible futures and question which ones are worth pursuing.
She is now turning experimental research into products that combine AI and wearable hardware to expand human capabilities in everyday life.
In Dunya's words
“Technology is giving us extraordinary power to shape what it means to be human. I want more people to have the freedom, community, and courage to explore that responsibility by building. The O’Shaughnessy Fellowship gives me room to grow Augmentation Lab as an R&D space for that exploration and connects us with people who believe unconventional ideas deserve a chance to become real.”
